Fishing in Northumberland

A recently established fishery at Thrunton Long Crag lies just 10 minutes drive from the cottages and offers a picturesque stillwater fly fishery in a wonderful setting below Thrunton Woods. Well stocked with rainbow, blue and brown trout and there is a newly built Fishing Lodge for refreshments overlooking the lake www.thruntontroutfishery.co.uk.

Sweethope Lough, which has good access to the banks and is located between Rothbury and Hexham (01830 540349)

Fontburn reservoir, near Rothbury (contact Northumbrian Water 0870 2403549)

For sea angling just call at the harbour of Berwick, Seahouses, Craster or Amble.
